Job summary

Interstate Batteries seeks a seasoned operations leader to partner with the General Manager in optimizing daily workflows, financial performance, and talent development at a company-owned distributorship.

You will drive accountability, manage inventory and customer relationships, and implement process improvements to meet budgeted goals and enhance route efficiency. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years proven managerial experience.
• Proven sales record.
• Experience in a Warehouse or Distribution environment preferred.
• Computer skills including Word and Excel preferred.
• Knowledge of battery or automotive systems preferred.
• Fosters teamwork and collaboration.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or forklift; valid driver’s record.

Responsibilities

• Hold team accountable to goals that meet the operating budget; monitor weekly scorecards and monthly financials.
• Review and manage AR to maintain acceptable levels; develop action plans for accounts with high AR balances.
• Manage inventory to align with selling activity; ensure proper levels.
• Oversee Route Service Excellence for maximum route efficiency; improve gross profit via increased sales to dealers.
• Review markets in Market IQ; visit key accounts; address dealer erosion; support new business within region.
• Establish weekly operation staff meetings; provide performance management via scorecards and progressive discipline.
