Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking an experienced finance leader to develop and manage fiscal procedures, budgets, and contract administration for the facility. You will oversee accounting, payroll, purchasing, and related support services to ensure compliant, efficient operations.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to coordinate with management and external partners in a government contract context. This is a full-time on-site position in Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in business related field such as Business, Finance, or Accounting; minimum of five (5) years in a finance-related role with budget preparation/control or government contracts experience.
• Master’s degree in business or public administration can substitute for one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Must exhibit leadership qualities to gain respect of employees and ability to work in a cooperative environment.
• Ability to work with computers and the software typically used by the department.

Responsibilities

• Develops, manages, and implements operational procedures and policies for business and support services of the facility.
• Establishes accounting procedures, fiscal reporting methods, and processes for payment of invoices.
• Oversees payroll, purchasing, communications, food services, warehouse, inventory control, and IT and insurance.
• Prepares and monitors annual budget; advises management on budget status and performance.
• Directs hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintains recording and control procedures for accounts and reconciliations.
• Provides for receiving, storing, and accountability of supplies, services, and equipment.
