Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company is offering an Operations Engineering Internship for summer 2027. You will collaborate with plant-floor technicians and salaried staff to learn the manufacturing process and identify process-improvement opportunities, manage projects, and document results.

This on-site internship is for rising sophomores to seniors in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial engineering. You will collect and analyze data, coordinate contractors, and prepare standard reports to

Qualifications

• Rising sophomore, junior, or senior with Engineering coursework preferred.
• A well-rounded skill set to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to work in both office and plant environments and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work with manufacturing technicians on the plant floor to identify process improvements and learn manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate activities of contractors, hourly technicians, and other resources.
• Prepare standard reports and documentation to communicate results.
• Manage projects from scope development through verification.
• Collect and analyze data to drive improvements while collaborating with salaried staff and technicians.
