Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company is offering an Operations Engineering Intern position. You will work with plant technicians and salaried staff to learn manufacturing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, manage projects, and document results.

Qualifications

• Rising sophomore, junior, or senior in an engineering program (Mech/Elect/Chemical/Industrial preferred).
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to work in both office and plant environments and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work with manufacturing technicians on the plant floor to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate activities of contractors, hourly technicians, and other resources.
• Prepare standard reports and documentation to communicate results.
• Manage projects from scope development through implementation and verification.
• Collect and analyze data to drive improvements while interfacing with salaried staff and technicians.
