Job summary

Smucker offers an Operations Engineering Internship for Summer 2027. You will work on-site with plant technicians and salaried staff to collect data, learn manufacturing processes, and identify process improvements on the production floor.

You will coordinate contractor activities, prepare reports, and manage projects from scope to verification, using data to drive practical initiatives. Open to rising sophomores through seniors in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial engineering.

Qualifications

• Rising student in engineering (sophomore–senior) with Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Industrial background.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Willing to work on-site in a plant environment and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work with manufacturing technicians to develop process improvements and understand processes.
• Coordinate activities of contractors, hourly technicians, and other resources.
• Prepare standard reports and documentation to communicate results.
• Manage projects from scope development to implementation and verification.
• Collect, analyze and use data to drive improvements with technicians and salaried staff.
