Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Operations Engineer to drive the lifecycle of cross‑functional projects within our North America Global Engineering Services. You will partner with internal teams and external vendors to deliver complex material handling and distribution system designs, ensuring on‑time delivery and strong stakeholder alignment.

The role requires up to 75% travel nationwide, with options to work from a corporate office when not on site.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial, operations, manufacturing, or project engineer experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience with material handling equipment (MHE).
• Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions.
• Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL.
• Travel up to 75% (Nationwide); valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Manage lifecycle of challenging projects with internal/external teams; deliver objectives and targets.
• Participate in firm engineering reviews and influence system architecture and facility processes.
• Set priorities, milestones, and schedules with stakeholders; mitigate delays.
• Lead execution efforts for system and equipment designs; perform installation and qualifications.
• Lead meetings with clear objectives; document decisions and next steps.
• Communicate project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans to leadership.
• Articulate system/equipment designs to internal customers and partner teams.
• Manage change orders, purchase orders, and invoice validation/approvals.
• Build strong relationships across multiple projects with stakeholders.
• Lead process improvements to boost engineering and cross-team efficiency.
• Travel up to 75% domestically; long periods away from home when needed.
