Job summary
Amazon is seeking an Operations Engineer in Austin, TX, to manage cross-functional projects in the facility network. You will lead delivery of next-gen sortation and distribution solutions while coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
The role requires 75% travel and involves hands-on design, installation, and qualification work across North America. Relocation may be provided for the right candidate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering is required.
- 4+ years in industrial, operations, manufacturing, or project engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions.
- Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL.
Responsibilities
- Manage lifecycle of cross-functional projects, delivering objectives across geographies.
- Participate in engineering reviews and influence system architecture and facility processes.
- Set priorities with internal teams and vendors, establish milestones, drive schedules.
- Lead execution on system and equipment designs, perform installation, throughput and safety qualifications.
- Communicate project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans to leadership.
