Job summary

Invenergy, headquartered in Chicago, seeks an Operations Electrical Engineer to manage the operations of wind, solar, and storage assets. The role includes monitoring fleet performance and providing electrical troubleshooting support across facilities.

The position follows a hybrid schedule: in-office Monday through Thursday and remote on Fridays, with opportunities for field work (<25%). Requires a BS in EE and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or similar
• 2+ years of professional experience
• Some travel and field work (<25%)
• Must be available for after-hours troubleshooting
• Valid driver’s license and driving record
• Eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate wind, solar, and storage assets to ensure reliable performance.
• Lead electrical troubleshooting and data review for events and outages.
• Coordinate with site personnel, contractors, equipment manufacturers & engineers.
• Maintain substation and balance-of-plant electrical testing and inspections (NERC/NETA).
• Support electrical procedure development and fleet-wide reliability improvements.
• Assist with project commissioning and turnover for new developments.
• Support NERC compliance audits, reporting and documentation.
