Job summary

Invenergy LLC in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Project Engineer to lead electrical engineering and construction for cutting-edge renewable energy projects. You will manage conceptual designs and coordinate with engineering firms to develop final detailed designs for wind and solar installations.

The role involves 1500V DC wiring, 34.5kV collection circuits, substations, and interconnections to the grid, with a hybrid schedule: in-office Monday–Thursday and remote on Fridays.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related degree.
• Knowledge of power systems.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of interpreting and applying industry standards and codes.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio.
• Ability to travel (up to 25%).
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Engineering Design Management: Develop conceptual project designs and review electrical drawings for wind/solar projects.
• Procurement and Construction Support: Review bids, support equipment purchasing, and supervise field progress.
• Electrical Engineering Group: Develop project specifications, coordinate with partners, and incorporate lessons learned.
