Job summary

FREE is seeking an Operations Director to lead a group of residential IRA programs serving individuals with complex needs. You will supervise clinical and non‑clinical staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive performance standards while coordinating with families and external providers.

Responsibilities include monthly system reviews, staff development, and implementing continuous quality improvement across programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years' supervisory experience; experience supervising others providing direct care and supports to individuals with IDs/mental health preferred.
• Three (3) years' supervisory experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field required.
• Education Agreement to complete the DSP Micro Credential levels I, II, and III OR earn a college degree from an accredited program.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or mental health disorders.
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience working with persons with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of IRA programs, ensuring integration of clinical services and operational management.
• Supervise non‑clinical staff to ensure high standard of care in residential settings.
• Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations, licensing requirements, and funding guidelines.
• Conduct monthly review of systems within residential programs per OPWDD.
• Develop and manage Staff Action Plans coordinated across interdisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate with clinical teams for interventions for complex needs.
• Mentor a multidisciplinary team to provide person‑centered care.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and evidence‑based practices.
• Provide regular staff training on mental health, trauma‑informed care, and forensic populations.
• Coordinate with families, Care Managers, and external providers for quality service vision.
• Engage IDT to promote a Person First model in all programs.
• Involve residents in decisions about life goals to the extent possible.
• Supervise Senior Supervisors with monthly feedback and annual performance reviews.
