Job summary

Barnard College seeks an Associate Controller, Operations to lead the College's core financial transactions, including payroll, accounts payable, purchasing, travel and expense, and related workflows.

The role reports to the Controller, supervises key operational finance functions, and partners with HR, IT, and campus units to strengthen process ownership, control, and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in accounting, financial operations, or controllership roles.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and financial transaction workflows.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll, accounts payable, purchasing, travel and expense, and related payment workflows.
• Ensure timely, accurate execution of high-volume financial transactions.
• Oversee payroll operations and liaise with outsourced payroll provider.
• Coordinate monthly and annual financial close processes with Finance teams.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
