The position offers a flexible schedule of 7 on/ 7 off or Monday-Friday with competitive pay between $18 and $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Dispatch experience preferred; aviation background and FAA/NAA Dispatcher Certification is a plus.
• Typing test required, comfortable with multi-line phone systems.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Job description

The HT Group is seeking an Operations Control Specialist to support a client in Lake Charles, LA. In this role, you’ll oversee global flight‑following operations to ensure safe and efficient aircraft activity. This contract‑to‑hire opportunity offers a schedule of 7 days on / 7 days off (5 AM–5 PM) or Monday–Friday (5 AM–5 PM) with a pay range of $18–$20 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track multiple aircraft throughout global operations, including departures, arrivals, and diversions
• File and update flight plans; track aircraft via satellite and radio reports
• Maintain two‑way communication with flight crews and coordinate with ATC as needed
• Communicate weather updates and assist crews with clearances for landings and offshore operations
• Initiate emergency response procedures when required
• Record and track offshore fuel data and maintain accurate documentation
• Ensure compliance with company operational manuals and procedures

Requirements

• Dispatch experience preferred; an Aviation background & FAA/NAA Dispatcher Certification is a plus
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; (typing test required) comfortable with multi‑line phone systems
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
• Detail‑oriented; able to work independently and in a team environment
