Job summary

Verst in Kentucky is seeking a 2nd shift Inventory/Customer Service associate to support operations from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. You will research and respond to inquiries about work orders, invoices, shipments and inventory, maintaining a courteous, professional, and efficient approach.

You will process and input customer orders, generate related paperwork, ensure accurate invoicing, and act as a liaison between warehouse and customer on accounts and collections.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, required.
• Experience in Inventory Control, Quality, or related preferred.
• Automotive environment experience preferred.
• Familiarity with SOX Compliance preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

2nd Shift- 2:00PM-10:30PM Hourly Rate: $20.50 + $1.00 Shift Differential

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

1. Maintain excellent working relationships with customers by researching and responding to all inquiries and issues concerning work orders, invoices, shipments, inventory counts, etc., in a courteous, professional and efficient manner.
2. Process and accurately input all customer orders into the computer system and generate all related paperwork and necessary information required for customer and warehouse purposes.
3. Ensure proper invoicing of customers by verifying computer generated invoices.
4. Act as a liaison between the warehouse and the customer in administration of accounts, and between the office and customer regarding invoicing and collection concerns.
5. Maintain a current and accurate procedures manual that details the processing requirements for each account.
6. Report customer feedback to management in a timely manner, including any signs or trends of customer dissatisfaction.
7. Answer telephone calls and operate various types of office machines and computers necessary to perform duties.
8. Create accurate and timely reports as requested by management or customers.
9. Maintain paperwork and prepare documents, such as bills of lading and shipping orders.
10. Use RF gun and/or complete proper forms as required to maintain and update product quantities.
11. Use of the Yard Management System (YMS).
12. Responsible for dispatching drivers and maintaining a driver check in/out log.
13. Responsible for batching and sorting order pick tickets.

Marginal Functions:

1. Provide on the job training for new hires.
2. Assist in the accounts receivable collections process with assigned customers, where applies.
3. Strive for continuous process improvement.
4. Perform cycle counts or verification of inventory quantities and locations.
5. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Job Specifications:

1. High School diploma or GED, required
2. Previous Inventory Control, Quality, or related experience, preferred
3. Project driven and detail oriented attitude
4. Previous experience in an Automotive Environment, preferred
5. Previous experience with Continuous Improvement Plans and Lean Manufacturing Techniques, preferred
6. Familiarity with SOX Compliance requirements, preferred
7. Familiarity with SDS/Hazmat Safety, Preferred
8. Willingness to learn internal customer service software applications
9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
10. Must be computer literate, ability to type 30wpm and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
11. Ability to work efficiently with a professional, customer friendly attitude.
