Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is hiring a Team Captain of Operations to lead store performance and coach a high-performing team. You will guide merchandising, pricing, and sign execution on the sales floor while supporting inventory and backroom processes.

You’ll drive operational excellence that enhances the athlete experience and store profitability. The role emphasizes coaching, scheduling, and maintaining outstanding customer service, with accountability for compliance and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in a retail environment.
• Previous retail/customer-facing experience required.
• Previous people leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding athlete experiences by providing clear, accurate product information and maintaining merchandising standards.
• Assist in developing 30–60–90 day plans to support department priorities and budgets.
• Communicate goals and plans to team, assign workload, and adjust schedules to meet traffic and payroll goals.
• Build and lead a strong team, overseeing hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Enforce safety, loss prevention, and SOPs, ensuring policy compliance by teammates.
