Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager, focusing on the front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with hiring, training, and developing store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and daily activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain store areas, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not present, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
8. Process all SSC Corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information.
9. Handle requests and communications related to store activities as delegated by the Store Manager.
10. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
11. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
12. Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
13. Manage cashiering activities to follow cash handling practices and guidelines.
14. Manage promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
15. Oversee seasonal sales areas.
16. Coordinate signage used in the store.
17. Process damaged merchandise daily.
18. Assist in creating weekly schedules.
19. Help manage store supplies and control expenses.
20. Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout areas to maximize impulse sales.
21. Refill coolers and storefront displays daily (balloons, sunglasses, batteries, etc.).

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
