OPERATIONS ASSISTANT MANAGER IN TRAINING

Position Overview
Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager, with a focus on front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with hiring, training, and development of store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with all store functions and daily activities as directed by the Store Manager.
- Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Help protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
- Maintain store areas, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards.
- When the Store Manager is not present, have supervisory responsibility for hourly Associates.
- Process all corporate directives and store communications delegated by the Store Manager.
- Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
- Ensure proper staffing coverage and sales floor effectiveness daily.
- Manage cashiering activities and ensure cash handling practices are followed.
- Coordinate store signage, displays, and seasonal areas for promotional effectiveness.
- Manage receipt and return of merchandise, including damaged goods.
- Assist with weekly scheduling, store supplies, and expense control.
- Maintain checkout area to maximize impulse sales and ensure store displays are replenished daily.
- Assist with the Drive Item program and other store initiatives.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Prefer prior retail and management experience.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
- Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
