Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Senior Maintenance Supervisor to oversee corrective and preventive maintenance on substations and transmission lines in the Atlanta area.

You will verify progress, coordinate outages, and manage Maintenance Authorization Requests while ensuring NERC reliability standards are met. Strong knowledge of MMS/SCADA and database tools is essential, with excellent communication and budgeting skills.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree plus 5-7 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct contractors performing corrective and preventive maintenance on substations and transmission lines.
• Verify maintenance progress, communicate status, and expedite materials.
• Manage responses to maintenance concerns by identifying solutions and issuing Maintenance Authorization Requests.
• Audit open Maintenance Authorization Requests monthly.
• Coordinate and schedule outages and submit work clearances to the system operator.
• Review maintenance reports and recommend additional maintenance.
• Ensure reports are properly stored on company servers.
• Assist with preparing Work Orders and Purchase Orders and obtain approvals.
• Close Maintenance Authorization Requests and Work Orders and maintain tracking databases.
• Maintain the MMS system so preventive maintenance is scheduled for equipment, transmission lines, and rights-of-way.
• Coordinate maintenance databases with the system operator.
• Communicate with Participants and contractors by phone, text, email, and field visits.
• Serve as a point of contact for Participants, contractors, and transmission system operators during daily and emergency transmission operations.
• Analyze and recommend improvements to systems, work processes, practices, and policies.
• Monitor projects for regulatory and reliability compliance.
• Maintain compliance with NERC Reliability Standards, including PRC-005 and FAC-003, and escalation
• Review and verify invoice coding
• Procure materials for operations, maintenance, and physical security needs
• Test Low Side contractor functionality to verify SCADA system operation
• Assist in developing annual budget reports incorporating O&M and capital costs
• Prepare reports, performance indicators, and analyses for management decision-making
