Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Preventive Maintenance Manager to lead industrial electrical maintenance programs across multiple sites in the United States. You will manage service agreements, coordinate outages, and develop reliable maintenance strategies while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, strong project management skills, and a proven ability to build long-term customer partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned preventive maintenance programs and service agreements from initiation through completion
  • Serve as the primary customer contact and communicate project status, findings, and recommendations
  • Develop long-term customer partnerships and recurring maintenance agreements
  • Coordinate annual maintenance schedules, inspections, tests, outages, shutdowns, and events
  • Lead project planning, scope development, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, reporting, and resource allocation
  • Review customer facilities and electrical infrastructure to improve reliability and reduce risk
  • Coordinate site audits, asset inventories, and risk evaluations
  • Transition business development opportunities into project execution
  • Manage project costs, labor, materials, subcontractors, and financial performance
  • Create and maintain project schedules across multiple customer locations
  • Review preventive maintenance reports and testing results for accuracy and quality
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 70B, NFPA 70E, OSHA, NETA, OEMs and customer safety
  • Lead kickoff meetings, status reviews, and client presentations
  • Coordinate outage planning with customers and field leadership
  • Establish expectations and deliverables with Lead Technicians and Maintenance Technicians
  • Mentor Maintenance Leads, Technicians, and Project Coordinators
  • Assist with workforce planning and manpower forecasting
  • Review and approve maintenance scopes, quotes, and corrective actions
  • Identify opportunities for maintenance services, repairs, upgrades, and reliability improvements
  • Develop department standards, processes, and reporting tools
  • Analyze maintenance data and asset health indicators
  • Assist customers with budgeting and capital planning
  • Manage project documentation and closeout records
  • Coordinate procurement of tools, equipment, and subcontract services
  • Review and resolve purchase orders, costs, invoices, and receivables
  • Investigate customer concerns and incidents while implementing corrective actions
  • Promote safety, quality, accountability, professionalism, and customer success
  • Report to leadership and collaborate with Operations, Service, Engineering, BD, Safety, and executives

Job description

  • Identify opportunities for maintenance services, corrective repairs, system upgrades, engineering studies, and reliability improvements
  • Develop department standards, processes, templates, reporting tools, and best practices
  • Analyze maintenance data, testing results, equipment condition information, and asset health indicators
  • Assist customers with maintenance budgeting and capital planning
  • Manage project documentation, reports, action logs, schedules, correspondence, inspection records, and closeout documents
  • Coordinate procurement of tools, testing equipment, rental equipment, materials, and subcontract services
  • Review and resolve purchase orders, project costs, invoices, and receivables
  • Investigate customer concerns, project challenges, quality issues, and safety incidents while implementing corrective actions
  • Promote safety, quality, accountability, professionalism, and customer success
  • Report to the Director of Preventive Maintenance & Customer Success and collaborate with Operations, Service, Engineering, Business Development, Safety, and Executive Leadership
Requirements
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, electrical service, reliability engineering, electrical testing, project management, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience managing maintenance programs, service projects, or industrial operations
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, industrial electrical equipment, motor control systems, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, panelboards, protective devices, and control systems
  • Thorough understanding of NFPA 70B electrical maintenance requirements
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations, electrical safety practices, and applicable electrical codes
  • Knowledge of NETA testing procedures and electrical reliability principles
  • Ability to interpret electrical one-line drawings, control schematics, equipment specifications, maintenance reports, and testing results
  • Understanding of asset management, equipment criticality, risk assessment, reliability-centered maintenance, and predictive maintenance technologies
  • Working knowledge of infrared thermography, power quality analysis, electrical testing, and condition-based maintenance practices
  • Ability to manage multiple customers, projects, schedules, and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong planning, scheduling, budgeting, organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and delegation skills
  • Experience coordinating outages, shutdowns, maintenance events, and field personnel
  • Exceptional customer relationship management, written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with maintenance management software, project management systems, scheduling software, and mobile reporting tools
  • Ability to analyze maintenance data and develop customer-facing reports
  • Strong overall computer skills and ability to learn new software platforms quickly
  • Current valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel as required to customer locations, approximately 50% maximum
  • Experience working within industrial manufacturing, processing, utility, or commercial facilities
  • Strong financial awareness and understanding of project cost management
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, customer service, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working in manufacturing plants, processing facilities, utility environments, commercial facilities, outdoor environments, and around industrial hazards
