Job summary

Truist Financial Corporation in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Operational Risk Management Programs Risk Officer I. This role leads development and execution of core ORM programs to identify, measure, monitor, and report operational risks across the bank.

You will implement policies, train staff, and collaborate with stakeholders across units while staying current with regulatory expectations and industry practices, including scenario analysis and data quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7 years of banking or related management experience.
• Strong operational risk management knowledge, leadership and decision-making skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders, and interact effectively with all levels of management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present issues, observations, and recommendations.
• Adept with Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of regulatory expectations related to operational risk scenario analysis, stress testing, and risk quantification.
• Experience facilitating scenario workshops across multiple business lines.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on ORM programs to ensure risk identification, assessment, monitoring, reporting, and mitigation across Truist.
• Implement ORM programs including policy, procedures, systems, training, monitoring, and validation.
• Promote operational risk awareness through training activities.
• Ensure program components meet regulatory expectations and are aligned with industry best practices.
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders across Business Units and second line functions.
• Stay updated on emerging risk management issues and incorporate learnings into processes.
• Identify opportunities to enhance scenario analysis methodologies, governance, tooling, data quality, and reporting.
• Use external loss data, consortium data, or benchmarking sources (e.g., ORX).
