Job summary

UC Health in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Scrub Technologist for the operating room to assist with sterile technique, instrument prep, and patient care under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager of the OR.

The role requires knowledge of aseptic technique, ability to prepare cases, and effective communication with surgical teams. Minimum HS diploma; an Associate degree in Surgical Technology preferred; certification encouraged within two years of hire; 0-6 months experience acceptable.

Qualifications

• Minimum Required: High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Associate degree in Surgical Technology.
• Certification as a surgical technologist highly recommended within two years of hire.
• 0-6 months experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with suctioning secretions, holding retractors, assisting with skin closure, cutting sutures and irrigating wounds.
• Circulates for operative procedures under supervision of R.N.
• Responsible for surgical preparation of procedures and set-up of sterile instrumentation.
• Follows universal precautions according to hospital policy.
• Promotes safety and teamwork in the OR.
