Phoenix Children's Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Surgical Technician to support the Ambulatory Surgery Center in Phoenix. The role provides essential assistance to surgical teams, manages sterile fields, and supports room turnovers for procedures.

Education includes high school diploma and Surgical Technician program completion; BLS is required. One year of experience preferred, with pediatric patient experience encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician program or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience.
• One year Surgical Technician experience in a surgery setting (preferred).
• Current BLS certification.
• Experience with pediatric patient populations (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assists with room turnovers in accordance with procedures and department standards.
• Supports surgeons at the surgical field during a variety of procedures.
• Prepares and sets up operating room and maintains sterile areas, instruments, and equipment.
• Handles and labels specimens and assists with updating physician preference cards.
• Re-stocks, re-supplies, and cleans operating rooms and sterile cores.
• Acts as a preceptor to students and orients them to Surgical Technician duties.
• Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
