Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician program or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience is required.
• One year Surgical Technician experience in a surgery setting is preferred.
• Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist to perform room turnovers in accordance with established procedure and department standards.
• Assist surgeons at the surgical field during procedures.
• Prepare operating room for procedures and organize sterile instruments and equipment.
• Handle and label specimens and maintain physician preference cards as needed.
• Restock, re-supply, and clean operating rooms and sterile cores.
• Serve as a preceptor to students and orient regarding functions and duties.
