Job summary

Children's Health in Dallas, TX seeks a Surgical Technologist II for an on-site role in the Operating Room. The position supports diverse surgeries, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with the surgeon and circulator to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency.

Requires at least 2 years of experience, CST and BLS, and a High School diploma. Monday–Friday, 10-hour shifts with rotating day off. Excellent team environment and patient-focused care.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of surgical technology experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred/current.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work on-site in Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities

• Provide proficient surgical services across multiple procedures and assist surgeon with instrument handling.
• Maintain sterile field and prepare the operating room per case plan, ensuring equipment readiness.
• Scrub, gown, and glove using sterile technique; pass instruments and assist with irrigation and suction.
• Assist in counting sponges, needles, and instruments with the RN circulator.
• Participate in time-out, verify patient identity and allergies per universal protocol.
• Lead team in cleaning and preparing instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and professional practice.
