Job summary

Jersey City Medical Center is seeking an OR Tech I to join the Operating Room team. You will work under the direction of the Registered Nurse, assisting the surgeon and RN to deliver patient care before, during, and after surgery.

This full-time position in New Jersey requires completion of a Surgical Technician program, NBSTSA and BLS certifications, and 2–3 years of experience. Expect 11:00 am–7:00 pm hours with alternating weekends and call coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience.
• Scrub experience across robotics, vascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to multitask and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team under RN direction during all phases of surgery.
• Deliver patient care before, during, and after surgery.
• Coordinate with surgeon and RN to ensure patient safety during procedures.
• Handle scrubbing for multiple service lines listed in the requirements.
