Job summary

Corewell Health’s Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids is seeking an OR professional to assist in intra-operative patient care, equipment setup, and sterile processing. The role involves preparing and cleaning the OR, organizing instruments, and supporting anesthesia teams.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma and 1–2 years of OR-related experience, with BLS certification within 60 days of hire. Day shifts, full-time hours, and a collaborative OR environment are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of relevant experience in patient care preferred; 1 year of relevant experience in Operating Room Preferred
• AHA or ARC American Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 Days of hire required

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation, delivery and clean-up of patient care during the intra-operative phase.
• Contributes to the smooth operation of the unit.
• Obtains and organizes necessary equipment, sterile supplies and instruments for each surgical case.
• Assembles surgical supplies for rooms and case tables.
• Opens sterile supplies for surgical procedures.
• Cleans equipment (including decontamination and sterilization of instruments), work areas and reusable supplies and returns unneeded equipment to appropriate department.
• Sets up anesthesia machines and runs tests to ensure the air is flowing correctly.
