Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is seeking a Surgical Technologist to ensure sterile field maintenance, intraoperative handling of instruments, and preparation of the surgical suite. You will assist in patient positioning, case costing discussions with surgeons, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives in the operating room.

Qualifications

• Required Associate's Degree or equivalent Completion of an Accredited School of Surgical Technology.
• Surgical Technologist Experience (Clinical rotations count as experience) preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by AHA or ARC within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field and provide sterile instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Perform counts of sponges, needles and instruments to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare case tables with equipment and medications for each surgical case.
• Assist in patient positioning and maintain protective posture during procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians to submit instrument set changes and cost-saving ideas.
