Job summary

Advocate Health in Illinois is seeking a Perioperative Assistant to support the Surgery team. Under Nursing staff direction, you will assist with patient transfer, intraoperative support, and preps, while ensuring safety and efficiency in the OR.

The role requires a CNA and CPR, includes 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with no weekends or holidays. You will help with stocking, transport of supplies, and coordination with physicians, anesthesia, and nurses.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent. CNA required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care under the direction of the Nursing Staff and transfer patients to and from OR tables, beds, wheelchairs, stretchers or carts.
• Assist with regional anesthesia by holding the patient in position for spinal/epidural blocks and support perioperative staff during procedures.
• Support with surgical preps, shave patients, and ensure sterile items are available and organized for cases.
