Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Cross Functional Associate to support operating rooms and sterile processing. You will assist with instrument processing, room turnover, supply management, and comply with safety and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities include equipment transport, supply restocking, patient positioning and safe transport, specimen handling, and blood product handling under supervision. CPR and background checks are required within set timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience.
• Familiar with internet email software and McKesson PHS.
• CPR certification within 60 days of hire; background and compliance checks required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in OR and SPD by assisting with room turnover and cleaning per protocols.
• Completes assigned tasks in SPD under direct supervision.
• Anticipates equipment needs and transports equipment to and from the OR as needed.
• Restocks supplies and ensures proper room setup for upcoming cases.
• Assists with patient positioning, identification, and safe transport to and from the OR.
• Follows safety protocols and uses PPE as required.
• Transports specimens to the lab and follows patient identification protocols.
• Obtains and returns blood and products from Blood Bank following procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
