Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech to decontaminate, clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments. You will ensure availability of properly processed equipment for procedures under supervision, adhering to policies and standards.

In this role, you will monitor sterilization cycles, operate decontamination equipment, and maintain accurate records. A HC setting, you’ll support safe patient care and participate in a compliant, efficient sterile processing workflow.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Pass a nationally accredited central service exam within 18 months of hire.
• Maintain CRCST or CSPDT certification.
• Surgical Technologist CST or Tech in Surgery Certified (TSC) meets license requirement.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate and clean surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assemble instrument sets according to count sheets and tray lists.
• Wrap or package instruments for sterilization and monitor cycles.
• Operate sterilization equipment and automated decontamination systems.
• Document sterilization cycles and maintain records.
• Deliver sterile items to requesting departments in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
