Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Cross Functional Associate to support operating rooms and sterile processing. The role involves helping with instrument processing, room turnover, supply management, and adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent) with basic experience, strong teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to perform a variety of tasks under supervision. Training and safety protocols are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with Internet email software and McKesson PHS required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in OR and SPD, assists with room turnover and waste disposal.
• Completes assigned SPD tasks under direct supervision.
• Anticipates equipment needs and transports equipment to/from the OR.
• Restocks designated areas, orders supplies, and ensures proper room setup for cases.
• Assists with patient positioning, identification, and safe transport to/from the operating room.
• Follows safety protocols and uses PPE as required.
• Transports specimens to the lab and follows patient ID protocols.
• Obtains and returns blood/blood products from Blood Bank following procedures.
