Job summary

University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Adult Operating Room who will function as both scrub and circulating nurse. You will participate in assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver safe surgical care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams across UCSF Health locations.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of recent Adult OR RN clinical experience
• Proficiency in scrub and circulating nurse roles
• Experience scrubbing/circulating OHNS, OMFS, Plastic, Dental, Neurosurgery/OHNS, open/endoscopic cases, free flap procedures
• Competence in managing complex surgical procedures in a fast-paced academic medical center
• Willingness to orientate and cover UCSF Health locations as needed
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently
• Proficiency with basic computer applications
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams
• BSN degree
• CNOR certification
• Current RN license in California
• Current AHA BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Assist in nursing care for patients with complex needs
• Carry out established nursing procedures
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary nursing teams
• Provide coverage across UCSF Health locations as needed
• Maintain patient safety and quality standards
