Job summary

University of California, Irvine Health is seeking an Operating Room Nurse to design, coordinate, and deliver patient care for operative procedures. You may act as scrub or circulating nurse and as a Pt. Care Coordinator as requested.

The role requires knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, infection control, and flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. External candidates must have a BSN; internal UC candidates may have ADN with BSN in progress; CNOR

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months recent nursing experience in an acute-care perioperative environment.
• Internal UC candidate with 2+ years UC service and ADN enrolled in BSN program.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required for external candidates.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to scrub and circulate in most surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and deliver patient care for operative procedures.
• Act as scrub or circulating nurse in various procedures.
• Serve as Pt. Care Coordinator as requested.
• Role model for nursing students and new nurses.
