Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Staff Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room to ensure patient safety and high-quality perioperative care. The role supports assessment, planning, and execution of intraoperative nursing activities in a fast-paced surgical environment.

The position requires an accredited nursing degree and an active RN license in WA, with at least six months perioperative experience. A BLS certification is required; ACLS or eligibility within 3 months is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active RN license through the Washington State Department of Health.
• Minimum of six (6) months of perioperative nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the health status of the patient to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Develops a nursing care plan with goals and interventions.
• Implements the nursing care plan to provide optimal care.
• Instructs the patient and family to assist with health goals.
• Documents nursing activities for continuity of care and accountability.
• Identifies the patient to ensure correct procedure and site.
• Plans and coordinates transfer of the patient to protect safety.
• Maintains sterile field and aseptic technique.
• Coordinates supplies and team during surgery and ensures efficient intraoperative care.
• Evaluates effectiveness of nursing care by comparing outcomes with goals.
