Job summary

HCA Healthcare Colleton Hospital in Walterboro, SC is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, high-quality perioperative care in a dynamic operating room team. You will evaluate patients before surgery, educate families about procedures, and prepare patients with IV therapy and preoperative medications.

You will participate in site verifications, respond to emergencies, and apply evidence-based practices while collaborating with surgeons, nurses, and technologists to ensure optimal patient

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications required within stated timelines.
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide education to patients and families about procedures.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Assist in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
• Be part of an interdisciplinary team with providers, surgeons, and staff.
• Apply the nursing process with critical thinking and leadership.
• Assess patient condition, monitor, and document changes.
• Educate patients/families about medical condition and follow-up.
