Job summary

Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA is seeking an experienced RN to join our perioperative team. You will evaluate patients preoperatively, educate families, and prepare patients with IV therapy and medications as part of a safe, evidence-based surgical workflow.

You'll work with surgeons, nursing staff, and technologists in a dynamic operating room, applying the nursing process and leadership skills to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting ongoing

Qualifications

• ACLS should be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• BLS should be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS should be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN licensure is required.
• Educational degrees or diploma as listed.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the perioperative process
• Prepare patient including intravenous therapy and preoperative medications
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including providers and surgical staff
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking and leadership to deliver safe care
• Assess patient condition and document changes throughout shift
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment and follow-up
