Job summary

Medical City Denton is seeking an Operating Room RN to influence patient care through collaborative relationships and involvement in hospital councils and nursing initiatives. You will help shape decisions that elevate patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

In this day-shift role (0630–1500), you will evaluate patients, educate families, and ensure patient preparation and surgical site verification within a dynamic, interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• One year of Operating Room RN experience required.
• ACLS within 6 months of start date.
• BCLS within 30 days of start date.
• PALS within 6 months of start date.
• RN; Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patient for surgery including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Respond to patient emergencies and deliver high-quality care.
• Educate patients and families about condition and follow-up measures.
