Job summary

Medical City McKinney seeks an experienced Operating Room RN for a full-time day shift. Join a collaborative surgical team delivering high-quality, patient-centered care with advanced equipment and standardized safety protocols.

Responsibilities include preoperative evaluation, patient education, IV therapy, medication administration, site verification, and participation in time-out and debriefing processes. On-call may be required during select non-business hours.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required/ BSN preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and/or a valid compact license.
• 1+ year OR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about the procedure and perioperative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols per hospital policy.
• Respond to patient emergencies and deliver high quality, patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with a dynamic interdisciplinary team including providers and surgeons.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes and care provided.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up.
