RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) at Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, NJ. The role requires an active New Jersey RN license, BLS certification, and 2–3 years of OR RN experience. A BSN is preferred or enrollment in a BSN program with expected completion.

The position is full-time, daytime, with on-call rotation and weekend requirements. The RN will work within the Operating Room department, providing evidence-based patient care, patient and family

Qualifications

• Active NY? actually New Jersey RN license in good standing is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• CNOR certification preferred but not mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required or candidate enrolled in BSN program with expected completion date.
• Two to three years of Operating Room RN experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) like EPIC is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to uphold perioperative nursing standards.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and respond to clinical changes promptly.
• Administer medications and treatments safely with strong clinical judgment.
• Partner with physicians and providers to coordinate timely care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly about care plans and next steps.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity of care.
• Engage in interdisciplinary rounds and support smooth transitions of care.
• Demonstrate teamwork and accountability in a fast-paced OR setting.
