Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an experienced RN for the Operating Room in New Jersey. The role focuses on safe patient care, collaborative teamwork, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Expect a 36-hour per week day shift with on-call, rotating weekends and holidays. Applicants must hold NJ RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and meet OR experience requirements, with BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing with BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• ASN or Nursing diploma required; BSN within five years of hire preferred.
• Two years OR clinical experience required.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR systems recommended.

Responsibilities

• Implement and evaluate a plan of care for patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique at all times and ensure OR equipment is properly arranged.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and intervene when needed.
• Administer medications and treatments based on evidence and clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with physicians and providers for timely, coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly about the next phase of care.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to team communication.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through education and clinical ladders.
