Job summary

The nurse will provide patient advocacy, participate in perioperative care, and collaborate with the surgical team to maintain patient safety and quality outcomes.

Minimum qualifications include a nursing degree, current RN license in Illinois, and at least three years of staff nursing experience. CPR/ACLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited program.
• RN license in the state where the facility is located (Illinois).
• Minimum of three years work experience as a staff nurse.
• CPR/ACLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessment/data collection focusing on physiologic, psychological and cognitive status.
• Forms a goal-directed plan of care based on nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes.
• Implements care in a knowledgeable, skilled manner to reach patient outcomes.
• Sets priorities for patient care based on needs and center resources.
• Performs documentation on the floor and in the patient record timely and accurately.
• Works as part of a team in delivering patient care.
• Maintains CPR/ACLS certification.
• Attends all mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
• Remains flexible and adaptable to new ideas and approaches.
• Treats all patients equally per Patient Rights policy.
• Reviews and carries out physician orders in a professional manner.
