Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital, part of Jefferson Health, seeks a Registered Nurse for Full Time Day shifts in the operating room. Four 10-hour shifts are available; prior OR experience is required with circulating and scrubbing experience preferred.

The nurse will provide patient- and family-centered care using the nursing process, coordinate with the care team, educate patients and families, and participate in safety and quality initiatives to continuously improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
• Knowledge of patient- and family-centered care.
• Effective communication and collaboration with care teams.
• Discharge planning and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients, families, and staff in the OR and perioperative settings.
• Partners with patients and families to identify learning needs and provide education.
• Uses information systems to document care and monitor outcomes.
• Works within nursing and inter-professional teams to ensure safe, compassionate care.
• Participates in safety and quality improvement activities.
