Job summary

UCHealth Cherry Creek Medical Center in Denver, CO is seeking a full-time OR nurse to provide direct patient care in a surgical setting. The role supports circulating and scrub functions, ensuring safety and efficiency before, during, and after procedures.

Responsibilities include patient prep, intraoperative monitoring, instrument handling, and high-acuity care in a fast-paced environment. BLS is required and CNOR is preferred for advancement within UCHealth.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited RN program and licensed as an RN.
• BLS certification required; CNOR preferred.
• Minimum 6 months OR nursing experience or completion of UCHealth Fellowship program.

Responsibilities

• Perform circulating functions before surgery: prep, patient orientation, chart review and safety checklists.
• Perform circulating functions during surgery: monitor patient, document interventions, manage room traffic and sterile field.
• Perform scrub functions: prepare, select and handle instruments, participate in instrument counts.
• Provide nursing care to high-acuity surgical patients in a technically complex environment.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
