Job summary

The University of California, Irvine's UCI Health seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Surgical Services team. Under the supervision of the Director and Clinical Manager, you will organize, plan, direct, and coordinate high‑quality patient care across the perioperative setting.

You will care for patients from infants to older adults, demonstrate strong communication, maintain professional relationships, and support process improvements in a busy academic health system in Orange County.

Qualifications

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
• Current California Registered Nurse License.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS).
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS).
• Six months experience as a perioperative nurse.

Responsibilities

• Organize, plan, direct, and coordinate patient care.
• Provide physical, psychological, and spiritual needs to patients.
• Continuously seek ways to improve processes and patient satisfaction.
• Care for a patient population spanning infants to older adults.
