Job summary

UCI Health, the clinical enterprise of UC Irvine, seeks a Nurse Supervisor for the Main Operating Room. You will manage daily patient care delivery, supervise staff, coordinate with physicians, and ensure equipment and services are readily available to support safe, high-quality surgical care.

The role requires OR experience, strong communication, and the ability to handle variable shifts, with a focus on leadership by example and adherence to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to lead by influence and by authority, manage conflict and negotiate.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• 5 years OR experience or 2 years OR experience with additional supervisory experience.
• ANCC RN certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily delivery of patient care in the Main Operating Room and ensure quality nursing practice.
• Supervise and direct OR staff, coordinate physician orders, and secure needed equipment and services.
• Review data and implement control mechanisms to promote safe patient care across the unit.
