Job summary

Stony Brook University is looking for an experienced Operating Room RN to join the team in full-time, variable shifts. The RN will handle preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care, administer medications, and ensure infection control and patient education.

Qualified candidates will have NY RN licensure, a BSN preferred, and OR experience. CNOR certification is desirable, with onboarding including BLS certification and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Must possess or be eligible for a New York State registered nurse license.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• CNOR certification preferred and operating room experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and coordinate care with surgical team.
• Develop and execute individualized care plans including discharge planning.
• Administer medications and provide direct patient care as needed.
• Maintain infection control and safe operating room environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the team.
• Support nursing documentation and patient education.
