Job summary

Stony Brook University Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse 1 (T&RC) for the Operating Room, full-time with variable shifts. Qualifications

• Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and nursing needs; coordinate care with health disciplines.
• Develop and implement written care plans including teaching and discharge planning.
• Administer direct care and medications as needed by patient.
• Practice infection control and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to RN/Clinician.
• Maintain written plan of care and document patient teaching and responses.
• Collaborate with staff and departments; participate in quality assurance activities.
