Job summary

Richmond University Medical Center in New York is seeking an Operating Room Business Manager responsible for the financial and operational performance of the OR, with a primary focus on billing accuracy, supply and inventory management, and cost containment.

This role collaborates with clinical leadership, supply chain, and finance to reduce spend and improve contract terms while ensuring efficient, compliant OR operations and participation in budgeting and long-term planning.

Qualifications

• College Education preferred. Business degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in healthcare operations, OR management, supply chain, or revenue cycle.
• Demonstrated experience with cost reduction, inventory management, and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee OR billing processes to ensure accurate charge capture and monitor case costs, reimbursement trends, and contribution margins by procedure, surgeon, and service line.
• Manage OR supplies and inventory, including PAR levels, usage tracking, and expiration management; analyze utilization and standardize products where appropriate to reduce costs.
• Lead initiatives to reduce waste, negotiate pricing with vendors, and support cost/benefit analysis for new products and contracts.
