Job summary

Truman Medical Centers is seeking an Environmental Services Operating Room Technician to maintain sterile, safe, and clean operating environments at UH Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. The role supports OR teams, infection prevention, and environmental services through meticulous cleaning and adherence to protocols.

The position offers a 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM schedule, full-time hours, and opportunities to supervise a small crew when needed.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Hands-on housekeeping experience, preferably in a hospital or medical setting.
• Must complete surgical area cleaning training.
• Experience with vacuums, scrubbers, polishers, and related cleaning tools.

Responsibilities

• Clean operating rooms and surgical areas after each procedure.
• Use pro-level cleaning equipment and cleaners to ensure spotless, streak-free surfaces.
• Follow strict safety, infection prevention, and documentation protocols.
• Collaborate with Environmental Services, Infection Prevention, and OR staff to maintain standards.
• Occasionally assist in leading a small team to stay on track.
