Job summary

University Health Truman Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Services Operating Room Technician (EVS OR Tech). This full-time role supports surgical spaces to be spotless, safe, and ready for procedures, with a 3:00PM–11:30PM shift.

You will get specialized training, work with pro‑level cleaning equipment, follow infection prevention protocols, and collaborate with Environmental Services, Infection Prevention, and OR teams. Leadership opportunities may arise as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some hands-on housekeeping experience, preferably in a hospital or medical setting.
• Willingness to complete specialized training for surgical area cleaning.
• Experience with vacuums, scrubbers, polishers, and related cleaning equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and safe handling of cleaning products on various surfaces.
• Good reading and writing skills to follow instructions and document activities.
• Physical strength and stamina to perform cleaning tasks.
• Team player with pride in meaningful work; able to supervise a small crew when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide VIP cleaning for Operating Rooms and surgical areas after procedures.
• Operate high‑powered vacuums, scrubbers, polishers, and other pro-level tools.
• Use cleaners appropriate for each surface to prevent streaks or damage.
• Maintain fresh, clean smells and environments in surgical spaces.
• Follow strict safety, infection prevention, and cleanliness protocols.
• Collaborate with Environmental Services, Infection Prevention, and OR staff to learn and maintain skills.
• Occasionally lead a small team to keep work on track.
