Job summary

University Health KC seeks an Environmental Services Operating Room Technician (EVS OR Tech) to keep surgical spaces spotless and safe. You’ll work 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 40 hours weekly at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO, supporting infection prevention and OR teams with high-quality cleaning standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, hospital housekeeping experience, and a willingness to undergo specialized training for surgical area cleaning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Hospital/medical setting experience preferred.
• Willingness to complete surgical area cleaning training.

Responsibilities

• Provide VIP cleaning for operating rooms and surgical areas after procedures.
• Operate pro-level tools (vacuum, scrubbers, polishers) safely and effectively.
• Use the correct cleaners for each surface to prevent damage and streaks.
• Maintain fresh, clean smells and adhere to infection prevention protocols.
• Collaborate with Environmental Services, Infection Prevention and OR teams; mentor when needed.
